Dr. Galen Maclaurin is a senior energy researcher and manager of the Geospatial Data Science group at the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He leads the development of meso-scale wind and solar resource data sets at the intersection of atmospheric science, machine learning, and big data processing. He manages a geospatial modeling team that develops scalable, innovative methods for understanding the barriers and opportunities for future renewable energy deployment from a cost-performance perspective.
