H.E. Dr. Sinava Souphanouvong

H.E. Dr. Sinava Souphanouvong is the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and is a member of the National Parliament of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. H.E. Dr. Sinava started his professional career at EDL (Electricité du Laos), the state-owned power utility, where he held several positions including Chief of the Technical Department. He managed several flagship projects such as the Seset-Chongmek high-tension (115kV) power transmission line from Laos to Thailand and the Vientiane Province Electrification Project. In 1990, he became the Director-General of Lao International Power Engineering Co., Ltd (LIPECO). From 2004 to 2009, H.E. Dr. Sinava was the President of the Lao Power Engineering Association (LPEA) as well as Co-Chairman of the Lao Union of Science and Engineering Associations (LUSEA) from 2007 to 2009.
