Sheharyar is currently Vice President for Asia Pacific Project Finance at Korea Development Bank (KDB) Singapore. He is responsible for origination, structuring, due diligence and financial closing of energy (power & renewables and Oil & Gas) and infrastructure transactions in Asia Pacific (South Asia, Southeast Asia & Australia).
Prior to joining KDB in 2014, he worked with Standard Chartered for 5 years covering structured finance transactions in the infrastructure space in Australia, Southeast Asia and West Africa.
He began his professional career in 2006 as an infrastructure planner with the Norway based Telenor Group's operations in Pakistan.
He holds a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and an MBA. He is a GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals) qualified Energy Risk Professional (ERP).
He is the organiser and moderator for GARP Energy Risk Discussions, a forum for panel discussions on key issues in the energy sector in Asia and also writes on energy and infrastructure industry issues.
